Four Brazilian Jiu Jitsu blue belt masters on the podium at Illkirch Open 2026 in France, celebrating with medals in front of the event banner

The tournament in Illkirch, France brought together experienced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners from different academies and countries. Bilal entered both his Master blue belt category and the absolute division, choosing to test himself as much as possible in a single day of competition. Despite the pressure, he stayed calm, followed the game plan and showed the same work ethic we see from him every night on the mats in Cairo.

In his category, Bilal secured a series of tough matches, scoring with guard passes, sweeps and well-timed takedowns. His consistent pressure, grips and timing earned him key wins that led to a well-deserved bronze medal. This podium confirms that his technical level and conditioning are now competitive on the European scene.

Bronze medal in the Master blue belt absolute division

After the weight category, Bilal decided to enter the absolute division, where all weights are mixed. This means facing bigger, stronger opponents, and it demands a smart strategy and sharp timing. Nevertheless, he accepted the challenge and once again delivered.

Bilal used intelligent guard play, strong grips and precise transitions to neutralise heavier competitors. Thanks to his composure and constant attacks, he reached the podium again and won a second bronze medal for Atom Jiu Jitsu. Achieving two medals in one day is never easy, especially at Master level, which makes this performance even more impressive.
